Student Council
Spirit wear fundraiser
After 7 years, we finally did it! We have a mascot and his name is Olly the Octopus! The student body has been encouraging this since day 1 and we are so excited to make it official. The idea of an Octopus as our mascot started in our very first year as a school, with students insisting it was perfect because an octopus has 8 tentacles. When we asked why that was perfect, the students replied that we offer the 4 core academics Math, Science, English and History, along with the 4 arts, Dance, Music, Theater and Visual Arts. This explanation made sense to us and Olly was born! Granite State Arts Academy would like to give a big Thank You to Sam Bennett, who created this logo for us originally as the Robotics Team shirt and then later adapted it to represent the school as a whole. |
Voice of the student
Student Council is an organization conducted by students and supervised by adults. ... In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.

Leadership
Student councils are a great way for students to take on leadership roles, promote the voice of the student body, solve problems and impact his or her community.
The projects in which the Student Council participates should be those which promote harmony among all groups with which the Student Council works. All projects should be submitted for approval to the principal who has final veto power on any activity.
