GSAA Dance Council

Picture
The mission of the Granite State Arts Academy Dance Council is to support the dance program at GSAA.  The support will be in the form of fundraising for and promotion of the dance program. The members of the GSAA Dance Council will be committed to the continued success of the dance program and will work to ensure money for costumes is available, as well as, participate in outreach to the community regarding the dance program.

The National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ (NHSDA) is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, dance studios, cultural/community centers, performing arts organizations, and post-secondary education.

GSAA National Honor Society

Picture
The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921.
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) officially established NHS in 1921. Though many local and regional honor societies existed prior to 1921, no nationwide organization had been founded. Under the leadership of Dr. Edward Rynearson, principal of the Fifth Avenue High School in Pittsburgh, the organization grew from the original Alpha Chapter at the Fifth Avenue School to more than 1,000 chapters by 1930. Equipped with a constitution, an emblem and motto, and a group of dedicated principals as coordinators, the new NHS organization quickly developed into one of the country’s leading educational groups.
NHS will celebrate its centennial anniversary on March 1, 2021. (this information was taken from the NHS website)

GSA - Granite State Alliance

Picture
GSA clubs, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQ+ and allied youth to build community and organize around issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSAs have evolved beyond their traditional role to serve as safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth in middle schools and high schools, and have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.
A growing body of research confirms that the presence of a GSA has a positive and lasting effect on student health, wellness, and academic performance. It can also protect students from harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and improve school climates for all students in the long-term.
Through GSA organizing, young people are able to launch campaigns on a variety of issues that affect all students across the country.

Robotics Club

Picture
For more information email Mr. McGarry at j.mcgarry@gsaanh.com
The GSAA Robotics Club is a part of the FIRST Tech Challenge, in which middle- and high school students compete with robots that they design themselves. The robotics club emphasizes teamwork and bringing diverse skills to the table: students will not only need to work together to design a robot that can best achieve each year's tech challenge, they will need to pool their resources and skills in building, programming, and operating the robot, as well as in fundraising and organization to allow the team to be successful. Everyone is welcome—no prior experience or robotics knowledge required!
